George Bawroski passed away peacefully at home on May 8, 2024, after a short battle with illness, surrounded by his loving family. He was 81 years old. He was born the son of the late Marcel and Rose Bawroski on July 2, 1942, in Baltimore, MD. He grew up in Curtis Bay, South Baltimore, where he developed a keen interest in understanding how things worked. He often disassembled objects around the house to explore their inner workings and would remarkably put them back together.
It was no surprise that George attended Baltimore Polytechnic High School, graduating in 1960, and then went on to Johns Hopkins University, where he earned his BSEE degree in 1964, a full year ahead of schedule. He then had a long and successful career with Westinghouse and Northrop Grumman as an Engineer, where he worked until his retirement in 2002. George earned the moniker “Zeus” among coworkers for his thunderbolt intellect and broad perspective.
